May I summarise the contributions we have received from the Baltic States:

Received from: Dr.Alfred Bilmanis, Latvian Minister, 4704 Seventeenth St. NW, Washington, D.C. under letter dated June 14, 1943… $21'664.97, being one unit for the years 1940 to 1943 inclusive.

Received from: Dr.P. Zadeikis, Minister of Lithuania, Lithuanian Legation, Washington, D.C., under letter n°937, dated June 28, 1943…$20'000, being one or two units for 1940 (depending the decision of the Contributions Committee) with balance applicable to 1941 and subsequent years not exceeding one unit for each year.

Received from: Mr.A. Kaiv, Acting Consul General, Consulate General of Estonia, 9 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, N.Y. under letter n°361 dated August 4, 1943…$15'574.22, being one unit for the years 1941 to 1943 inclusive.

In accordance with a decision taken at the meeting held in New York these remittances have been placed in a special Suspense Account and a mere acknowledgement of the remittance has been dispatched from this office stating that the information has been communicated to the Secretary-General of the League in Geneva who will communicate with the payer direct.

I am not certain that the Secretarx-General has been informed of the reeipt of all three of these remittances and I leave to you to take whatever action you think desirable.

Extract from lettre N°.T.1895.N°179, dated London, January 6th, 1944, received 18th Feb.1944.

I have just heard from Watterson in reply to my letter of October 27th that he has advised each of the depositors that the amounts which they deposited in the bank can be drawn out by them if the depositors wish, and that he has instructed the bank that if these depositors claim back the sums they have paid in, this may be permitted.
