Resolution on Ethnic Equality
We, the deputies of the Supreme Councils of the Republic of Estonia, the
Republic of Latvia, and the Republic of Lithuania, meeting in a joint
session, affirm our commitment to garentee the rights of all residents of
Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, regardless of nationality, native language,
and political or religious beliefs, in accordance with international
agreements guaranteeing human rights, and in conformity with our laws and
other legislative enactments, which guarantee adherence to the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights.
We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to improve our governmental
institutions and foster respect for the cultures and traditions of persons
of various nationalities.
We call upon all ethnic communities to actively support the development of
democratic institutions that will establish the foundations for the common
good and progress in the independent Baltic States.
